Cabinet painting in Plano
If you are looking for a cabinet painting company, Plasters of Italy has been painting cabinets for over two decades.
What is the process to paint stained cabinets? Firstly, Sanding off the lacquer is essential to all for better adhesion. Secondly, vacuum and tack cloth to remove all dust. Thirdly, applying a quality bonding primer for the paint to stick good. Forth, Choosing a good paint that performs well.
Cabinets can either be painted by brushing or rolling. A quality waterborne alkyd is what I recommend. Be sure to number the cabinet doors, reinstalling will be much easier.
If you are going with white cabinets, we can match your existing trim paint. Although our customers have been using a cream color, but not to yellow. Try a color called Creamy by Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore has a color called Cream but it does come off more yellow. We purchase our cabinet at the Benjamin Moore store in Plano there are 2 locations. Both are located on Preston Road.
I can not express enough how important prepping the cabinets prior to painting means. Clean off grease, especially around the stovetop area. Meticulous sanding followed by removing all dust. Prime with good bonding primer, if the grain raises after priming they must be sanded smooth again. Two coats of paint and they are done! Happy Painting!
Satin or Eggshell is available for the paint sheen. We use Satin more often but they both are very durable.
