Selecting A Quality Paint For Kitchen Cabinets
I use Advance paint by Benjamin Moore which is a waterborne alkyd, truly this paint is incredible for its beauty and longs lasting results. Unlike Oil based paints this product is very low VOC’s significantly improves the dry time and is non-yellowing. Bonding primers should always be used to promote adhesion. Additionally, after sanding this will give a more uniformed finish.
Our Process For Painting Cabinets
Firstly, is removing the cabinet doors hinges and hardware, also number the location of every door and drawer. Secondly, cleaning any oil and grease from the cabinets. Thirdly, sand the lacquer or the old layer of paint. In fact, this one of the most important steps in the prep stages, because you want excellent adhesion. Forth, we apply the bonding primer uniformly over the entire surface. Fifth, the final prepping stage, vacuum all cabinets and tack cloth to remove any dust. Neatly caulk any seam joints and putty nail holes. We are now ready to paint the cabinets. Preparation is the key here you should spend more time on the prepping stages than actually painting!
