Features
Venetian Plaster is a decorative finish that is real in terms of its composition, unlike faux or paint. To summarize authentic Venetian Plaster is made of Lime or what is called Grassello in Italy. Additionally, the term Venetian Plaster is derived from the Venetian Region of Italy where it is called Stucco Veneziano.
In either case, we know it as a beautiful decorative wall finish that has many benefits. Marmorino means “little marble”, an elegant historical lime plaster made of crushed marble and Lime. When applied to the wall it carbonates with the air and cures back to stone.
Synthetic vs Lime plasters – each have there benefits however, Lime plasters have an Eco-System that is a much healthier option for your home and business.

The elegant beauty of Venetian Plaster can not be denied, since its inception around 7500 BC.
Venetian plaster is typically applied over sheetrock, or sometimes referred to as drywall board. The wall needs to be a level 4 or 5 smooth surface for the plaster application. If your wall is not smooth and has a builder texture I would prepare the wall for the plaster application.Â
Venetian Plaster is applied with a stainless steel trowel inch by inch maintaining a consistent movement across the surface, its a layering process. The final coat is burnished, as this seals the plaster creating a smooth surface, Additionally, it brings out the transparent textures adding depth to the finish. Every applicator has a unique hand and technique and that is the Art of Venetian Plaster.
