Our Painting Process

Organization and communication is key to a successful job. Additionally, I am an independent business and do all of the work.  Coordinating with you throughout the entire painting process is an integral part of our work flow. Painting begins only after we have done all of the necessary prep work and the room is properly set up. We apply two coats of paint on every job, no exceptions, it does not cost more to do it right the first time. Your walls are most likely extremely porous and dry and require an adequate amount of paint to achieve coverage, color, and sheen leveling. Most every home I see has not been painted correctly, which is why we love what we do, creating sustainable surfaces that last longer and have a better feel and look. Custom painting is a term described when the work is done right.

 

Choosing The Correct Type of Paint

We use either Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore paints for most all of our jobs. Pro Mar 200 has changed the last year and is much thinner than before. We do like using Super Paint by SW as it has been around a long time and has not changed in its formulation.

Keeping up with the paint industry and the technology is a must to ensure that you get the correct paint type for your home. Additionally, choosing the wrong trim paint can cause adhesion problems. Latex paint will not stick to oil paint! I see this often and can be prevented by knowing what type of paint your painting over.
